SoCal Roadrunners sweep team titles in Moreno Valley

    The Southern California Roadrunners based in Highland raced well at the Lions Pride Cross country Invitational held at Box Springs Regional park in Moreno Valley taking 4 first place team honors and 2 second place in team honors in the 6 age groups entered with team scoring.
The team won the 8-under boys division, 11-12 girls division, 11-12 boys division and the 13-14 boys division. The team placed second in the  9-10 girls division and 13-14 girls division.
Selah Markow (Redlands) placed 9th overall in the  8-under race running solo for the team on the hilly 2000 meter course.
The 8-under boys team featured Irvin Montes (San Bernardino) in 6th, Jesus Saldana (San Bernardino) 7th, Ryan Bravo (Colton ) in 11th,Blase Romero (San Gabriel valley) in 14th and Jaime WAllace (Colton) in 21st. The team scored 14 points just ahead of Chino Pumas 17 and 10 East (Grand Terrace) 21.
The  9-10 girls were led by Katie Hornung (Yucaipa) 4th, Isabella Bravo (Colton) 7th, Skye Hanes (Riverside) 9th, Alexis Fallejo (Walnut) 15th and Rosa Saldana (San Bernardino) 23rd. The team placed 2nd behind Pacific Coast Shockwaves.  The 9-10 boys did not have 3 runners to score as a team but were represented by Nicholas Beltran (Highland) 16th and Emery Dominguez (Redlands) in 22nd.  The 11-12 girls team won with 12 points ahead of Temecula Valley Time Machine, Lions Track club, Chino Pumas track club , Pacific Coast Shockwave and 10 East.
Allura Markow (Redlands) was third, Gabriella Romero (Victorville) 4th and Dhannasshy Sanchez (Riverside) 5th. Angelina Diaz (Upland) was 17th.
The 11-12 boys team dominated the field scoring 8 points ahead of Pacific coast Shockwave 21, OC Grit 22 and Temecula Valley Time Machine. Ethan Romero led from start to finish ahead previously unbeaten runers Edgar Haro of Shockwave and National champion Everette Capelle of South Orange county Wildcats. Ethan finished 18 seconds ahead of second place. Juna Montes (San Bernardino ) raced well for 4th, Emmanuel Wallace (Colton) placed 5th, Aidan Sturtevant (Redlands) was 7th, Niko Gutierrez (San Bernardino ) was the teams 5th man placing 10th. Big improvements from Isaic Moreno (San Bernardino ) placing 12th and Lucas Torres (Loma Linda) in 12th. Newcomers to the team included Adrian Torralba in 20th and Roman Valdez in 23rd.
The 13-14 girls placed 2nd behind the Pacific coast Shockwave led by Jennifer Lopez (Redlands) third place finish. Ria Perencsik (Redlands) placed 7th. Emma Miller (Loma Linda) was 12th , Genna Rice Rancho Cucamonga) 15th and Gianna Valdez was 18th. The 13-14 boys team took first over Pacific Coast Shockwave, Temecula Time Machine and South Orange county Wildcats. Alex Miller (Loma Linda) for second, Jake Caliva (Loma Linda) was 6th, Glenn Bell (Fontana) 7th , Ruben Denson 9th, Gabriel Rice (Rancho Cucamonga ) 12th and Max Devoe (Redlands) 14th.
